In his 26th year of teaching music, Ken Pendergrass currently teaches choral, general, and instrumental music at Fairmount Park School in West Seattle. He studied music education at the University of Southern California and Biola University, and holds a master of music degree from Western Washington University in choral conducting. He directed the Men’s Choir at Seattle Pacific University for seven years and continues to work with a variety of choral groups of all ages throughout the Puget Sound region as a conductor and clinician. Mr. Pendergrass also sings and is assistant conductor with The Compline Choir at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Seattle. Broadcast live since 1960 on Seattle’s Classical KING-FM and streaming at http://www.king.org, the choir sings The Office of Compline every Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m., attracting a diverse congregation upwards of 500 people, placing Compline among the longest-running programs in national radio history.
